The 3M Foundation was formed in 1953. It is an unendowed pass-through foundation, funded annually by 3M. The 3M Contributions Program is multidimensional, and includes cash grants made to non-profits by the 3M Foundation, as well as those made directly by the corporation. It also includes coporate gifts of products, property and services, which are enhanced by the volunteer efforts of 3M employees, retirees and their families.

To be a catalyst in partnering with the community, joining corporate resources with community needs through charitable contributions and employee involvement.

To contributer to 3M's image as a responsible citizen, Community Affairs will be responsive, proactive, caring and innovative, and will demonstrate the highest standards of ethics, honesty and integrity.

Vision

To develop, communicate and implement our plans and guidelines so well that they are clearly understood and respected in the community, and our decision-making is consistent.
