Automotive Aftermarket Division
The 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division is dedicated to improving the physical and mechanical condition of all types of vehicles. The automotive paint and body shop, bumper recycler, glass replacement, recreational vehicle, mechanical service and do-it-yourself markets all look to this division for solutions. Products under the “3M” brand include abrasive sheets, sheet and disc rolls, belts and sanding accessories; cut-off wheels, buffing pads, rubbing compounds, putties, polishes and glazes; plastic parts repair materials, body filler, masking paper, paper masking machines and paint finishing systems.
The line also features masking liquid, masking paper and films, masking and paint striping tapes, decorative striping tapes, disposable dust masks, spray paint respirators and rear window plastic lenses.
The division markets adhesives, coatings, sealers and aerosol chemicals; electrical tapes, electrical terminals and connectors, attachment tapes, striping and attachment tape remover, scuff pads and adhesive cleaners and wax removers; plus packaging tapes, packaging list tapes, label protection tapes and dispensers.
Major Markets: Consumer; transportation.
Distribution: Primarily through divisional sales force to wholesale automotive distributors and jobbers which service repaint shops; auto dealers; machine shops; fleets, service stations and repair shops; windshield glass installers; recreational vehicle outlets; retail tire, battery and accessory dealers; and miscellaneous retail outlets.
