Automotive Division
The 3M Automotive Division manufactures and markets a wide variety of products for the automotive market, including: adhesive and tape attachment systems; catalytic converter mat mounts; decorative, functional and protective films; and trim and ornamentation products.
Adhesive systems include 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tapes for exterior attachment of body side moldings, fascia trim strips, claddings, emblems and other exterior trim. The line also includes specialized attachment tape systems for automotive weatherstripping. Other products include 3M™ Structural Bonding Adhesives and Tapes, 3M™ Scotch-Grip™ Adhesives and Sealants and 3M™ Interam™ Mat Mounts for catalytic converters.
Fabricated parts for automotive image and appearance include: 3M™ Scotchcal™ High Performance Graphic Films, 3M™ Protective and Functional Films, 3M™ Dimensional Graphics, 3M™ Vitrotrim™ System Nameplates and Badges, and 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Sheeting.
The division also offers extensive graphic design services through a global network of design studios.
Major Markets: Transportation (automotive OEMs, suppliers and aftermarket).
Distribution: Primarily direct sales in the U.S. through the 3M Automotive Industry Center to automotive OEMs and suppliers; through specialized distributors and fabricators to the automotive aftermarket.
