System Requirements and Compatibility
What
operating systems does the Post-it® Photo Organizer work
on?
The Post-it® Photo Organizer is compatible with Windows 2000, XP and Vista operating systems.
What are the Post-it® Photo Organizer
System Requirements?
PC with 486 or higher processor, Microsoft® 2000, XP and Vista, Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher,
1024 x 768 screen resolution recommended, minimum of 64
MB RAM, and 100 MB free hard drive space for installation
Can I use the Post-it® Photo
Organizer in conjunction with other photo software?
Yes. The Post-it® Photo Organizer does not move your images
or modify their format.
All my images aren't displayed
in Post-it® Photo Organizer, why not?
The Post-it® Photo Organizer supports JPG, TIF and 24-bit
BMP file formats.
What type of BMP files does Post-it®
Photo Organizer support?

Section 2.
Install/Uninstall
When
I try to install the software, I get a Win32 error. How
do I install the software?
To re-download and install the software, go to the software
download page (http://www.3m.com/us/office/postit/digital/organizer.html).
Click the download button and then select to Save the file
to your desktop. Once the download is completed, double-click
the EXE to begin the installation process. When the installation
is complete, you can delete the EXE you downloaded.
Can I install Post-it®
Photo Organizer to a directory other than C:?
Yes, the Post-it® Photo Organizer can be installed on any
drive letter. Simply select the desired destination during
the installation process.
Do I need to be an administrator
on my computer to install the Post-it® Photo Organizer?
You will need to be an administrator when installing and
registering the software.
How do I uninstall the
Post-it® Photo Organizer from my computer?
To uninstall Post-it® Photo Organizer, access your computer's
Control Panel. Depending on which operating system you
have, you can get to the Control Panel by clicking on Start>Settings>Control
Panel or by clicking My Computer and then Control Panel.
Click on Add/Remove Programs and remove Post-it® Photo
Organizer.
How do I fully uninstall
(or reinstall) the Post-it® Photo Organizer
To fully uninstall the Post-it® Photo Organizer, first
access your computer's Control Panel. Depending on which
operating system you have, you can get to the Control Panel
by clicking on Start > Settings > Control Panel or
by clicking My Computer and then Control Panel. Click on
Add/Remove Programs and remove the Post-it® Photo Organizer.
If you are on Windows XP or 2000 -
Go to: C:/Documents and Settings/USERNAME/Application
Data/Post-it Photo Organizer (where USERNAME is what
you use to log into your computer.)
If you are on Windows 98 or ME - Go
to: C:/WINDOWS/Application Data/Post-it Photo Organizer
Delete the Post-it® Photo Organizer folder. Reinstall
Post-it® Photo Organizer if desired.
Note: The Application Data folder might
be hidden. To view hidden folders, from within My Computer
click Tools > Folder Options then select the View
tab. Then click the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" radio
button.

Section 3.
Viewing Images
The
pictures on my computer do not reside in the My Pictures
folder, how do I add additional folders to be viewed
in the application?
Click the Get Images button and then select From Folders.
Here you will be able to import images from your computer
and external devices simply by selected the appropriate
folder.
How do I remove folders
from the software?
Right-click on top of the folder name in your list of folders
and then select Remove Folder. This will remove the selected
folder from the Post-it® Photo Organizer but will not remove
the folder from your computer.
I have added images to
an existing folder but they are not displayed within
the Post-it® Photo Organizer.
To have new images in an existing folder displayed within
the View tab, Click the Options button at the top left
of the View tab and click Refresh Catalog.
What are the ideal color
quality settings for my computer monitor when using
Post-it® Photo Organizer?
The ideal color quality setting is 16 bit or higher.
What is the ideal resolution
for my computer monitor when using Post-it® Photo Organizer?
1024 x 768 screen resolution recommended
How do I check or edit
the color quality settings or resolution of my computer
monitor?
You can access these display settings by going to your
computer's control panel and then select Display and click
on the Settings tab.
How do I edit my image
name and corresponding information?
Select any image in the Post-it® Photo Organizer. On the
left side of the screen, there will be a box titled Image
Information. Here you can change the title of the image,
edit the date you want this image to be associated with,
and add keywords for the Post-it® Photo Organizer Search
option.
What is the date displayed
within the software?
The images' Created Date is what is displayed within the
software.
How do I select images?
To select an image, simply click the checkbox for the photo
in the View tab.
How do I select multiple
images?
If you'd like to select all images in the thumbnail view,
click the Select All button. If you want to select only
a group of images that are in a row, select the first image
and then hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and then
click the last image you want to select. All images in
between the first and last will be selected.
If I choose Delete from
Disk from the Image Options menu, will the image be
deleted from my computer?
The image will be placed in your computer's recycling bin.
How do I hide the Selection
Tray on the View tab?
Click the minus symbol to the right of the Action menu
to collapse the Selection Tray.
I can't see the Selection
Tray on the View tab, how do I expand it?
Click the plus symbol to the right of the Action menu to
expand the Selection Tray.

Section 4.
Get Images from Camera, Card Reader or Printer
How
do I transfer my images from my camera to Post-it®
Photo Organizer?
The Post-it® Photo Organizer comes with an image acquisition
wizard which makes importing and stamping your images easy
and fast. Connect your camera to your computer and access
the “Get Images” button on the View tab in the Post-it®
Photo Organizer. On Windows XP you will see an option to
download images using the Post-it® Photo Organizer when
you attach your camera into your computer.
The Post-it® Photo Organizer
“Get Images: From camera” is not working with my camera,
why?
The Post-it® Photo Organizer supports cameras that operate
in Disk Drive/Mass Storage mode on all operating systems.
It supports cameras set to Camera mode on Windows XP and
ME only. You may need to install the driver (which came
with your camera) for your computer to recognize your camera.
How do I check/set my
camera's connection mode?
All cameras are different so exact details will vary. Access
your camera's menu on the back of the camera itself and
then enter the Setup. The entry will usually show up as
'camera mode' or 'connection type.' It is suggested that
you set your camera to 'disk drive' or 'mass storage' mode
for optimal compatibility.

Section 5.
Searching Images
How
do I search for images in my Post-it® Photo Organizer?
On the left side of the View tab you will find the “Search
My Images” button. Click this button and then you will
be able to enter keywords or image dates to will find all
images relating to your search.

Section 6.
Edit Images
How
do I save an image after editing it?
The edits are saved automatically. Your original image
will be preserved as a new file so that you can undo all
edits in the future. The original image is saved with a
file ending of .orig and is not visible within any application.
If you delete or move this file, you will not be able to
undo all your changes to that particular image.
For some images, I can no longer
revert to the original image.
If you move an edited image without moving the associated
.orig file, you will lose the ability to revert to the
original file. If you rename an edited image, you will
lose the ability to revert to the original file.
How do locate my original unedited
image?
Select the View tab and then right-click the image then
select the Locate Original Image option.

Section 7.
E-mail Images
Do my
friends and family need the Post-it® Photo Organizer
to view the images I e-mail them?
No. Your friends and family can view the images you send
them using any image viewer.
How do I e-mail a single image?
Clear the Selection Tray by clicking the Actions button
and then select Clear My Selections. Once emptied, add
the image you wish to send to the Selection Tray by clicking
the checkbox for that image. Now go to the E-mail tab where
you will then be able to e-mail images using your default
email program.
How do I select multiple images
to email?
Simply add images to the Selection Tray by clicking the
checkbox for each image. Then go to the E-mail tab, where
you will be able to e-mail images using your default email
program.
Will Post-it® Photo Organizer
work with my email program?
The Post-it® Photo Organizer e-mail function works with
most major e-mail applications, and will launch your computer's
default e-mail program. The software supports Microsoft
Outlook, Outlook Express, Lotus Notes, Eudora, AOL 7.0
or higher, and Hotmail. Older versions of America Online
and certain web-based email services are not supported
at this time. Note: Internet Explorer 5.0 is required when
using web-based email such as Hotmail.
How do I check and set my computer's
default email program?
Begin by accessing your computer's Control Panel. Depending
on which operating system you have, you can get to the
Control Panel by clicking on Start>Settings>Control Panel
or by clicking My Computer and then Control Panel. Click
on the Internet Options icon and then choose the Programs
tab. Pick your e-mail program from the drop down menu.
Why does the Post-it® Photo Organizer
shrink the size of my images when I e-mail them?
The Post-it® Photo Organizer shrinks the size of your images
before e-mailing to a screen view (about 70k) so that uploading
and downloading won't take too long or clog your recipients'
e-mail inboxes.
The Post-it® Photo Organizer
doesn't work with my email program. Can I still reduce
the size of my images before sending them manually?
Unfortunately, there is no way to manually shrink your
images.
Is there a way to test what my
default email program is outside of the Post-it® Photo
Organizer?
You can launch Microsoft Word and then click File>Send
To>Mail Recipient (as attachment). If this launches your
e-mail program, sending images with the Post-it® Photo
Organizer should work as well.
How do I download my images from
my e-mail into the Post-it® Photo Organizer?
The easiest way to view images from your e-mail in the
Post-it® Photo Organizer is to detach or download them
to the My Documents/My Pictures folder (or a subfolder
within that folder) on your computer. Then re-launch the
Post-it® Photo Organizer and the images should be automatically
imported.

Section 8.
Create Album Pages
How
do I select a template?
Just click a template at the top of the tab.
How do I add an image to the
template?
Simply drag and drop the image from the Selection Tray
to the slot in the album page.
How do I remove an image from
the album page?
Right–click the image in the template and select Remove.
How do I rotate an image in the
album page?
Right-click the image in the template and select Rotate
Right or Rotate Left.
Can I add a caption to my album
page?
Album pages with the black blocks can have captions added
to them.
How do add a caption to my album
page?
When you select a template that supports captions, click
the black block and then enter a caption in the caption
screen.
How do I remove a caption?
Click the caption box and then when the caption screen
opens, delete the caption and then click OK.
How do I add another album page?
If you already have an album page open and wish to add
another, click the Add Page button.
How do I remove an album page?
If you wish to remove an album page, simply click the Remove
page button.
How do I save an album page?
Simply click the Save as Image button to save the album
page. The album page is saved as a JPG image and cannot
be edited at a later date. You will need to do this for
each album page.
Do I need to save each album
page?
Yes, you need to save each album page individually. When
viewing the album page, click the Save as Image button
and then save the album page. You will need to do this
for each album page.
Can I edit an album page later
date?
Saving the album page as a JPG files does not allow you
to change the page at a later date.
How do I view my album page in
the View tab?
Once you save the album page as a JPG, return to the View
tab and then click the Options button at the top left of
the software and click Refresh Catalog.
Can I e-mail my album page?
Yes. First you will need to save the album page by clicking
the Save as Image button. Then return to the View tab and
then click the Options button at the top left of the software
and click Refresh Catalog. Now clear the Selection Tray
by clicking the Actions button and then Clear My Selections.
Then select the image and then go to the E-mail tab and
click the e-mail button.

Section 9.
Printing at Home
How
do I print my images on my home printer?
Post-it® Photo Organizer allows users to print their images
on their home printer. Simply add images to the Selection
Tray by clicking the checkbox for each image and then go
to the Print tab. Here you will be able configure how you
would like your images to be printed.
How do I print borderless prints
on my home printer?
If your printer supports borderless printing, you will
see the borderless paper options in the Paper Size menu
on the Print tab.
How do I print a single image?
Add the image you want to print to the Selection Tray.
Then click the Print tab and click on the image in the
Print tab Selection Tray. Select the “Print one image”
option which should now display the image you want to print
in the print preview. Then click the Print button.
When I print images on color
images they come out as black and white, why?
In the Print tab, click the Advanced… button to access
your printer's advanced settings. Verify that the settings
are set to print in color. Also, check to make sure you
have color ink in your printer.

Registering
I am
having trouble trying to register the Post-it® Photo
Organizer, what's wrong?
- Make sure you are connected to the Internet
- If you have a personal firewall such as Zone Alarm,
McAfee or Black Ice, make sure you 'allow' the Post-it®
Photo Organizer software to access the Internet.
Do I
need to be an administrator on my computer to use the
Post-it® Photo Organizer?
You will need to be an administrator when installing and
registering the software.
Can I register my software without
connecting to the Internet?
Unfortunately you cannot register the software without
an Internet connection.

Section 11.
Auto-Update
Will
the software tell me when there is a new version available?
As long as you do not block the software from accessing
the Internet, the software will tell you when a new version
is available.
Why does my firewall tell me
the Post-it® Photo Organizer is trying to access the
Internet when I open the program?
When you open the software, it checks the server to see
if a newer version is available for download.
