How do I create Post-it® Photo Cards?

  1. From the View tab, select the photos that you want to include on your Post-it® Photo Card.

    1. Note:  If your photos are not shown, add your photos by clicking the Get Images button and browsing to the folder where your images reside.

  2. Your selected photos will be added to the My Selections area.

  3. Next, click the Create tab.

  4. Click the Post-it® Photo Design icon to begin creating your photo card design.

  5. Click the New Card button to begin creating a new photo card design.

  6. Click on card template category to display the Post-it® Photo Card templates.

  7. Click the Select button on your chosen card template to begin editing your Post-it® Photo Card.

  8. From the My Selections, click the photo to add to your Post-it® Photo Card template.

  9. Click inside the text box to add a custom message to your Post-it® Photo Card.

  10. Click off the text box to review your typed message.

  11. Print your card by clicking on the Print button in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.

  12. The Print Your Card dialog will be displayed. Ensure that your printer is selected. Also, select the number of copies you want to make.

  13. Press the Print button on the Print Your Card dialog to begin printing your Post-it® Photo Card.

What are the system requirements for the Post-it® Photo Organizer software?

  • PC with 486 MHz processor or higher
  • Microsoft® Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista™ Operating Systems
  • 64 MB RAM
  • 100 MB free hard drive space
  • Screen resolution of 800x600 pixels or higher (1024x768 recommended)

How do I install Post-it® Photo Organizer software from the CD included in the Post-it® Photo Card Kit?

  1. Close all programs.
  2. Insert the Post-it® software CD into your CD-ROM drive.
  3. The installation wizard will guide you through the steps of installing all of the Post-it® software.
  4. If the installation does not automatically start then follow these steps: Click Start, click Run. Type D:/setup.exe, where 'D' is the letter designation for your CD-ROM drive.
  5. Next, click OK to start the installation wizard.

How do I print my Post-it® Photo Card?

After you have designed your Post-it® Photo Card, click the Print button in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.

On the Print Your Card dialog, select your printer and the number of copies you would like to print. Lastly, press the Print button on the Print Your Card dialog to print your Post-it® Photo Card.

How do I install Post-it® Photo Organizer software from the Post-it® Digital website?

Close all programs.

  1. Download Post-it® Photo Organizer to your computer.
    Click here to download Post-it® Photo Organizer. Or go to www.post-it.com/digital and select Post-it® Photo Organizer from the navigation menu. Click the FREE Download! button to start the download.
  2. Step through the installation wizard.
  3. Post-it® Photo Organizer will open when the installation is complete.
  4. Click on the Create tab.

There is a new version of the software available for download. It is highly recommended that you update your software, since improvements or new features may be available.

How do I load Post-it® Picture Paper into my printer?

Insert the 4x8 Post-it® Picture Paper into the main input tray, leading with the 4” or 8.5" end of the paper.
  1. Look for a symbol on the input tray of the printer showing the proper way (face up or face down) to load the card. The printable side (white) is loaded face down in most HP® printers. In Epson®, Lexmark® and Canon® printers, the printable side is usually face up.
  2. Adjust the paper width and length guides in the tray to fit closely to the edges of the paper.

For specific information regarding loading paper into your printer, please refer to your printer's manual.

How do I adjust print quality settings?

  1. Click the Print button on the upper left-hand corner of the application.
  2. From the Print dialog, click the Advanced button.

  4. From the second Print dialog (see Figure 2), select your printer from the list (1), and then click on the Preferences button (2).

  6. From the Preferences dialog:
    1. If you are printing a 4x8 card, select the paper type/size to be 4x8 Post-it® Picture Paper", "A5", or "PhotoCard with tab" (See note 3).
    2. If you are printing an 8.5x11 project, select the paper type/size to be 8.5x11 Post-it® Picture Paper" or "letter 8.5x11".
    3. Set the paper quality to the highest setting available for your printer (See note 1). If Post-it® Picture Paper is not listed, select a high-quality photo paper setting (e.g. Premium Photo Glossy paper).
  7. If you see the Photo Card Printing Instructions, shown in Figure 3, click on the Setup button and proceed as directed in items iii and iv above.

Notes:

  1. For HP® printers do not set the Print Quality setting to "Maximum dpi". Selecting the Print Quality of "Maximum dpi" may cause your system to become unresponsive.
  2. Do not select Borderless as a paper size, since borderless printing is not an option.
  3. When printing 4x8 templates, only adjusting the print quality setting (i.e. Best quality) may produce acceptable results.

No, the text boxes are a fixed size.

Can I change the template message? For example, "Happy Birthday" or "Happy Easter"?

No, it is not possible to change the template message.

My photo is being cropped within the picture box, how can I size it properly?

You have two options.

  1. Option 1
    Right-click on the photo from within the card template. Next, select from one of the four options: Auto Fit; Fit to Width; Fit to Height; Fit to Both. You may have to reselect a new option to find the best fit.
  2. Option 2
    Go to the Edit tab and crop your photo to better fit the card template.

Can I print the card borderless?

No, borderless printing is currently not an option for 4x8 Post-it® Photo Cards.

Can I change just a portion of the text that I enter?

No, it is not possible. The entire text text block must be the same font style, color, justification, and size.

I went to the Print tab and my card went away.

  1. The Print tab is for printing onto 4x8 and 8.5x11 Post-it® Picture Paper.
  2. To print your Post-it® Photo Card, click the Create tab. Next, click the Post-it® Photo Design icon. Your Post-it® Photo Card design will be redisplayed. Next, click the Print button in the upper left-hand corner of the screen to display the Print Your Card dialog. Select your printer and the number of copies to make on the Print Your Card dialog. Lastly, press the Print button on the Print Your Card dialog to begin printing.

I clicked off of the Create tab (for example to select more photos) and went back to the Create tab, where did my Photo Card project go?

Don’t worry; your card is still there. First, click the Create tab. Next, click on the Post-it® Photo Design icon. Your last edited template for this session will be reopened.

How do I change a template?

If you are editing an existing card and would like to retain your existing text and pictures, click the Select Different Template button in the upper center corner of the application. Select a new card template from the list.

Your text can be changed by selecting your text and then selecting one or more of the text options.

I'm having trouble printing, what should I try?

Ensure that the printer is powered on.

  • Ensure that the cable between the printer and computer is properly connected.
  • Verify that the paper is loaded properly.
  • Try printing a test page, if the printer offers this capability.
  • Turn off your printer and wait 30 seconds, then power on the printer and try printing again.
  • Check the printer job queue. Does the print job exist? If not, try printing again.

How can I improve the quality of my printed Post-it® Photo Cards?

For best results, ensure you have selected 4x8 Post-it® Photo Cards or 8.5x11 Post-it® Picture Paper for the paper size and type, respectively in the print dialog.

  • If the printed colors are not correct, the printer maybe out of ink. Check the printer ink cartridge(s) for ink. Consult your printer’s manual for instructions.
  • If the printed image does not appear to be photo quality, ensure the photo quality setting is enabled for the printer. Consult your printer’s manual for instructions.

Can I edit my photos?

Yes, you can edit your photos through Post-it® Photo Organizer. Click the Edit tab to begin editing your photos.

How do I uninstall Post-it® Photo Organizer?

  • If your computer’s operating system is Windows XP or Windows 2000:
    1. Open the Add/Remove Programs dialog.
      1. In Windows XP, go to Start - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs.
      2. In Windows 2000, go to Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.
    2. Select Post-it® Photo Organizer from the list of installed programs.
    3. Click the Remove button.
  • If your computer’s operating system is Windows Vista:
    1. Go to Start - Control Panel – Programs and Features.
    2. Select Post-it® Photo Organizer from the list of installed programs.
    3. Click the Remove option.
    4. Select Yes to remove.

Tips

For best results, store Post-it® Picture Paper flat, in the original packaging. Avoid storing or displaying the product in excessively hot or humid conditions.

  • To minimize fingerprints, avoid touching the paper’s print surface.
  • For better feed ability, do not load more than 10 sheets in the tray at a time.

Compatibility

This product is designed for inkjet printers and is not recommended for use on laser printers.

  • This product may not work appropriately with 4x6 Photo Printers. Consult your printer’s manual.
  • This product is not compatible with dye sublimation printers.
